IP_Seismic 2026.3 Release

September 7, 2026

IP_Seismic 2026.3 is now available. One of the major additions is support for ZGY 3D seismic data. Users can import ZGY volumes from Petrel, view them alongside SEG-Y data, and convert data between the two formats. Performance improves by a factor of 3–4 on HDDs and 1.5–2 on SSDs.

The new version supports prestack seismic data organized as offset or angle volumes. Users can import SEG-Y data, calculate mean and RMS values, create virtual volumes, and apply prestack data to neural-network property prediction from well data. New tools for assessing prediction accuracy and new regularization algorithms have also been added.

Virtual-volume calculation, stratigraphic slicing, and time-to-depth conversion have been optimized. Neural-network algorithms and multitrace attribute calculations are now 2–5 times faster, while lengthy tasks can run asynchronously. The release also improves the stability of Bayesian inversion and adds contour visualization, cartographic output, and interactive highlighting of well intervals from crossplot polygons.
